Barents DanceCouncil (BDC) is a collaboration project that connects professional dance artists and culture workers across the boarders of the north, in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Russia. BDC was established by dance artists that saw a need for contact between artists across the national boarders. The council was founded in 2001, and builds on collaboration started up in Sweden in 1993 under Barents Danssamarbetet (Barents Dance collaboration). Since then the network has grown, and the tasks and work has developed.
